Following a request from Cheryl Williams, Director of Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Kelvin Fitton provided a letter of support for the expansion plans at the park. Kelvin penned:

‘As Chair of the Place Marketing Board for Doncaster, I wish to endorse the proposed expansion of Yorkshire Wildlife Park. When it opened its doors in 2009, I don’t think anyone from the local community expected such a quality attraction here on our doorstep, or to witness YWLP’s vision unfold in the way we have. From a small farm and riding school which attracted visitors from the locality, to a national attraction bringing thousands to our town, within a decade is phenomenal. From my perspective as Chair of the Place Marketing Board for the town, YWLP underpins all that we advocate. An expansion to the existing site is just another step in their growth vision, which we as Doncaster Business Partners should support wholeheartedly. The park is operated professionally by experts who know their field and who have instilled quality in all they do. They have created a unique experience for all age groups to enjoy and seek to inspire people to support conservation and welfare through the way they administer all operations at the park.

YWLP has certainly boosted the number of visitors Doncaster has seen in recent years and has contributed significantly to our local economy. We are more than fortunate to have a provision such as this in our town and expansion can only be seen as a positive, which the town as a whole will greatly benefit from.’ July 2017
