Not one but two for Smith Craven


Leading Doncaster based Chartered Accountants, Smith Craven, have strengthened their management team with the appointment of two high profile recruits.

Joining the company are Samantha McInnes MAAT ACA as Business Development Manager and Claire Docherty FAAT FCCA as Business Services Manager FCCA.

Partner Kelvin Fitton, who is responsible for the firm’s recruitment stated, “It is rare to find one local high calibre person coming onto the market in this field, let alone two. We are delighted to have them on board. I am sure that with their local knowledge they will be of great help to our Doncaster based clients. Also with my Pro Doncaster head on, we have been able to stop this real talent leaving the town”.

Samantha will be responsible for increasing the profile of the firm within Doncaster, developing its client base within the area, as well as managing the Commercial Department.

Claire will assist the firm’s Managing Partner, Andy Cribb, with his portfolio of corporate clients, together with a number of sole traders and partnerships. Claire’s role will be wide ranging to encompass accounts and tax work as well as providing proactive business advice and planning.

Smith Craven Chartered Accountants in Doncaster have a dedicated Start up/Smaller Business team.

Headed by Associate, David Middlemass with assistance from Caroline Ball, Phil Sergeant, Andy Stokoe and Steve Errington.

Steve has recently joined the firm with over 30 years experience helping Start Up and Smaller Businesses in Doncaster.

Chesterfield

We are pleased to announce our Chesterfield office opened on 7 April 2008. Managed by Will Reay ACA, Will, is a well known and respected Chartered Accountant in and around the Chesterfield area and we are delighted that he has joined us.

Will Reay is supported at Chesterfield by Sarah Grafton, who joined the firm in April from Mitchells Chartered Accountants.


Worksop
On 1st February 2008 James Ryan become a partner in the practice. James who has been responsible for the development of our Worksop office has proved to be a great acquisition for the firm and this promotion is well deserved. So much so that on 1st February 2008 we also moved to new and bigger premises at The Turbine Centre, Coach Close, Worksop S81 8AP.

The Worksop office has also taken on its first graduate trainee. Robert Hood joins the team there with a first class degree in Accountancy & Finance.


Sheffield
The Sheffield office is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Mark Timms who will be Howard Mee's assistant. We are interviewing at the moment for a further member of staff as this office continues its expansion.


Doncaster
In Doncaster the Smaller Business team are pleased to announce the recruitment of Philip Sergeant ACCA as assistant to David Middlemass. In addition Caroline Ball ACCA, has been appointed Business Development Manger for our new StartUp clients. Smith Craven Get Their Man



South Yorkshire Accountants and Advisors Smith Craven have appointed Howard Mee as Associate to the firm.

Howard has over 15 years of experience within the Sheffield SME market place, working in both general practise and more recently within Corporate Finance, he joins the firm from Barber Harrison & Platt.

Howard will be responsible for increasing the profile of the firm within Sheffield, developing the client base in the region, as well as attending to the firms Corporate Finance requirements.
